Focus Group Selection

The recruitment process for the for-profit focus groups took into consideration geographic, demographic, urban or rural, gender and ethnic differences. Various sources were used to develop diverse focus groups. The following are some of those sources:

  • GTE Yellow Pages on-line
  • Various associations such as the American Architect Association, Ohio Museums Association, in particular, the 1998-99 Ohio Cultural Directory.
  • Ohio Arts Council staff recommendations
  • Chambers of Commerce

Four architect focus groups took place with a total of 32 participants in Northwest, Central, Southeast and Southwest Ohio. Three for-profit art gallery focus groups took place with a total of 27 participants in Northeast, Central and Southwest Ohio. Three music venue focus groups occurred with a total of 15 participants in Northeast, Central and Southwest Ohio.
