Arts professionals are the human capital of Ohio's arts and cultural environment. This study looks at individuals who work in the arts, including arts administrators, arts educators and individual artists. Due to the vast number and wide variety of arts professionals, focus groups were selected as the method of collecting data. The need for qualitative information, as well as the desire to provide an opportunity for these professionals to have a roundtable discussion, were among the other reasons for choosing this method. Additional information on the number of employed arts professionals and related salaries is provided. This information was gathered from the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics' database.

An additional study looked at students graduating from accredited arts and arts-related fields from Ohio's colleges and universities. These students were surveyed about their educational experience, career plans and opinions about the climate for arts professionals in the state of Ohio.
